Marleen Goumans (PhD, MPH, MHA) is a professor of integrated care for older persons. Her background is in health policy and administration and in public health. Integrated care for older persons is the issue which is on Marleen’s agenda for the last twelve years. Integrated care goes beyond the health care sector and moves into housing, social and mental health. The issue of active ageing or empowered ageing offers the possibility to research and teach combined issues focussing both on the aspect of health promotion as on integrated care.
At the moment she is also head of the Centre of Expertise Innovations in Care (CEIC). The CEIC has the ambition to be a key institute in the development of innovations and high quality and relevant practice based research.
AJJ Voorham (PhD) is a public health officer for the municipality of Rotterdam. As such, he has years of experience in the development and evaluation of public health programmes, especially on health promotion for the hard-to-reach target groups such as migrants en the elderly. His doctoral thesis was on health promotion with the peer strategy, the theoretical foundation and the evaluation of these programmes. As a professor at the RU he is specialized in primary health care, and he develops innovation projects and educational programmes for all the professionals involved in the development and the innovation in primary care, such as nurses, midwifes, social workers, and physiotherapists.
