Hein Raat, MD, PhD, MBA is professor and expert in patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) to include the patient perspective in health care evaluations. He develops, implements, and evaluates how information technology (E-health) empowers patients and (informal) caregivers. He studies the impact of social factors including migrant status and poverty on health. He is actively engaged in exchanges between research, policy, and practice. He authored circa 175 scientific publications.

Marlou de Kroon, MD, PhD, is involved as a senior researcher on the evaluation of UHCE. She is a medical doctor with expertise in longitudinal and transversal epidemiological research. Her research focuses on early identification, detection, screening and prediction from preconception until adulthood. Her main topics were overweight, related cardio metabolic risk and motor and speech development.

 

Carmen Franse, MSc, will work as junior researcher on the evaluation of UHCE. She has an MSc in Biomedical Sciences, with a specialization in International Public Health. She has worked as a project manager for an international NGO specialized in e-health and education. She has carried out implementation research in Rwanda.

 

Petra de Vries, is coordinator of the research support office at the Erasmus MC Public Health department. Besides the management of several FP7 and Chafea projects the office supports the quality control of the research projects and coordinates the application of flexible staff.

 

Alex Burdorf, PhD, professor, is an experienced epidemiologist, awarded with the AIHA Yant award 2006 for this contribution to the scientific field of industrial hygiene. He is expert in determinants of population health. He is programme director of a Research Master of Science in Public Health at the Netherlands Institute for Health Sciences. He authored over 250 scientific publications.

 

Ed van Beeck, MD, PhD is an international expert in injury and safety research, and injury prevention. He is project leader of the IMPROveFALL trial, which assesses cost-effectiveness of medication withdrawal of older people that visit the Emergency Department because of a fall. He co-supervises falls prevention research in the nursing home setting. He authored circa 100 scientific publications.

 

Agnes van der Heide, MD, PhD, is professor in Medical decision making and care at the end of life and co-ordinated many (inter)national research projects in palliative and end-of-life care. She has expertise in epidemiological, clinical and qualitative study methods. She authored over 150 scientific publications.

 

Gouke Bonsel, MD, PhD, is professor Perinatal Care and Public Health. Expertise: health care innovation and evaluation research, in particular in urban environment with local parties (municipality, public health and social services, clinical and GP care).
